Roses are a little "romantic"; at least, don't get red ones. Varieagated or yellow would be better. Or a floral arrangement with a variety of flowers. Still, a very thoughtful employee!

My advice is to take up a collection among your co-workers and get your female boss a mixed arrangement of flowers. For starters, roses (while perfectly nice and loved by most women) are usually reserved for your closest friends and/or loved ones, and if you go out and buy flowers for your boss (which is a very nice thought) your co-workers may think you're sucking up to the boss. So my two cents' are to keep it simple and give your co-workers a chance to chip in.

not if you are looking to be original its not. In all gift giving ventures seek to break away from a traditional gift. No ties, no roses, etc. The best gifts are born of minute details. The kiss **** at my job found out that the boss had a taste for the whiskey, so he bought him a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue...
Make whatever it is is specific to only your bosses tastes

Is there a group of people that you work with? If so, then you all can pool your money and get a nice array of flowers and have them delivered.
A dozen roses from an individual, just doesn't sound quite right to me. It is a little too much.
Good luck

Its nice but better for a loved one gift. Why not try another flower, the flower shop can suggest one that's what they're there for. Maybe if you want to take the time find out if she wants or needs something for work or home, its always nice if we can keep gifts or use them. Something as simple as a new mug, stationary set, or if you are close maybe a scarf or charm to give a personal touch. hope this helps

If coming from another female I think it would be fine. We got our boss a Gift Certificate for the KU Store since he is a heavy fan and Alumni.

it seems inappropriate for a relationship that is not intimate. I would ask a florist for a suggestion on an arrangement that would say what you want to say. You could also get her a gift certificate for a massage at a reputable spa and include a card that says "you work so hard I thought that you could use this".

Roses seem a little over the top. A group of you should take her to lunch or get a different type of flower like Gerber Daisy or Tiger Lily.
Nice of you to think of her.

Lunch is always nice but roses last longer and are beautiful. Every time she looks up she will smile and think about you, you never can rate to high as an employee.
