i'm supposed to be a zombie for this friday for a halloween party. i've never been a zombie and don't want to spend much. what do i need to pass as a zombie?
i'm thinking just paint my face white and some fake blood or something? what do zombies wear?

Pretty much the clothes on your back, unless you've been dead a while then the clothes should be torn and tattered. Probably make them also a bit dirty and maybe mud splattered as you were supposed to be buried.
The following links should give you some ideas that would be of some help. One will give you ideas on how to make scars and scabs, things you might want to add. Especially scabs if the zombie has been in the ground for a while.

kind of a stretch here but the "infected" from the 28 Days/Weeks later movies, they are considered zombies, though technically not...
Simple costume though
red eye contacts
lots of fake blood down from the mouth
for the extra mile wear really dirty clothes...

Zombies are dead persons, instead of white use gray paint for your face and black or darker gray around the eyes. Clothes are old and dirty, remember dead. You can take more ideas with the old video of Michael Jackson "Thriller".

my son is going as a zombie too. I hit the thrift store and found an old flannel shirt that we could rip in certain places. He is wearing a pair of black jeans and some old boots.
Get a funny walk and moan and you are set.

Zombies wear clothes that hang from their body's, and are all teared up and ripped. Their skin is more gray then white. And thats about all I know about them..:/ Maybe you should check google images,

your face shouldnt be white, it should be greenish brown or purple-ish. you should wear a ripped shirt with fake blood on it and dirty pants

you should wear old clothes, better if they are brocken clothes, and..... yeah, your face painted is also a good idea.
