If you plan to go drugless, your chance of death is lower. Pitocin can cause a ruptured uterus, which can cause death. Some people can react to medication or anesthesia. You are picking the safest way. Check out the Bradley method. Over 90% of those who use the Bradley method do not need pain medication. I have had four children with no pain medication.

If you've been going for prenatal checkups, your chances of dying during childbirth are very slim as your doctor will pick up any risks and complications you may have. Furthermore you're reducing your chances of death by having a vaginal delivery without drugs. Drugs may reduce pain and make things more comfortable but they're not without risks.

very very low. If you are a young, healthy woman you have a less than 1 in 1000 chance of dying. Death in an unmedicated vaginal delivery in america is almost unheard of. C-sections carry the highest risk of maternal death, but its still very low. The more medical intervention you have, the more risk of complications you have, and more chances of something going wrong.

An unmedicated delivery is tough, but the reward is worth the work!!!

Awww...bless your heart. You must be scared. Is this your first baby? I'm pregnant with my first and often wonder the same question! I would say that your chances of death are pretty slim. . .but no one but God knows what can/will happen. Just know you are not alone. I would talk to my doctor since you are soon close to giving birth-and then I would tell him my fear...so he will know how to handle your fear in a more delicate manner. You shouldn't feel embarressed as I'm sure you aren't the first one afraid-heck I am, I won't lie. IT SCARES ME TO DEATH! But you aren't alone,,,good luck!

In this modern age, the chances are very low so long as you are in a hospital. Of the few cases I have heard of, all but one happened to people who gave birth at home with no medical professional present.

all women get these nervous feelings ....dont worry and try and enjoy it as much as you can although it's extremly painfull. I'm preggy only 19 weeks and my 3rd time and i still get myself worried , on both of mine i went drug free just had gas and air ....... you will be fine :) its a very low percentage so dont get yourself worried over something so silly .
