Just wanted to know if there were any Paul Anka fans out there? I personally think he's one of the best artists ever! What's your favorite song of his?

For those who don't know who Paul Anka is, he had a string of hit songs from the late 1950s until well into the 1970s. He wrote the theme song for "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson". He also happens to be the father-in-law of actor Jason Bateman.
As for favorite song of his, it would probably have to be "Put Your Head On My Shoulder".

Artists have done this a lot. Michael would be no different. Really...it doesn't matter who releases the song...the composer holds the rights to his/her songs. You little fans are ridiculous with your insults. Paul Anka was huge around the time Michael was born and most of the time Michael was growing up. Perhaps he got bad advice from his lawyers and didn't feel he was 'stealing' the song? There is a huge misconception where people believe that if you change a note here and there or a few words, then it makes the song an original. There have been laws recently created to cover that misconception. Just because Paul Anka is trying to protect his work doesn't constitute any of Micheal's so-called "fans" insulting him or hurling accusations. Know the whole story before shooting off your mouths before you wind up making fools of yourselves. I'm a Michael Jackson fan and have been since probably before your parents were born and I have enough sense to know that Michael would no more 'steal' a song from someone he probably looked up to than he would approve of the ignorant statements found here. IF this is true, then Michael probably misunderstood something somewhere. Let the courts sort it out. In the meantime, none of you have any damned right to hurl insults and act like Michael did nothing wrong. People screw up, get bad advice, etc. Grow up.

I'm not particularly a fan, but I used to love his song "Diana". It was so goofy, my sister and I used to drive our mother nuts by running around the house singing it.
OTOH (and IMO, of course) he should have been shot for "Having My Baby"....
If you're a fan, try to locate his tirade directed at his band members circa mid-70's. Someone had the presence of mind to record it, and it's funny as hell. A key phrase to search for is "The guys get shirts." It shows him in a different light, but it's well worth the time to track it down.
