I don't want to criticize women who formula fed. Everyone has their own reasons why they did which one they did.

I am just curious to see what percentage of people did what. If your answer is formula, I encourage you to post your answer too!!! I just want to know what the statistics are. THANK YOU!!!

So far just breastmilk, and he's almost 7 months.
BUT I'll soon be switching to formula as I have a serious medical condition and treatment is not safe while breastfeeding.
I'm kind of sad about having to stop, but he's gotten everything he really needs from my milk, plus he just started eating foods, so it's not going to hurt him to switch.
I think more people are breastfeeding these days, or at least trying to. Nearly all my friends did, and ALL of them at least tried to.

Breastmilk for 6 months then formula

Breast milk.
It's free.
And by the way, I don't begrudge anyone for using formula. Peoples circumstances are different. But I would like to say that breast feeders get bashed on too. You have to bf or use formula for the whole 1st year, right? But, so many people react like it's the worst thing in the world when they find out you are still breastfeeding your child after 6 months, and don't think twice in regards to formula. From the time my son was 6 months, I heard several times in an oh so shocked tone, "Oh you mean your still breastfeeding him!?" If I had been sticking a bottle in the kids face for all that time, none of these people would have thought twice. But because its my breast..........I mean, for heaven sake he was still an infant!! And I only breastfed til he turned 1.

My first child had breastmilk for the first 7 weeks, then we switched to formula. My second child had breastmilk for the first 14 months then we switched to whole milk.

I gave my son breastmilk for the first two months but had to switch to formula since I wasn't producing enough to keep up with him!

You are correct, Maddy - roughly 76% of mothers try to breastfeed. However, not all are successful for varying reasons - improper latch on, lack of support, low milk supply, medical reasons, etc.
