One treats the underlying cause.

For example, cirrhosis caused by alcohol abuse is treated by abstaining from alcohol. Treatment for hepatitis-related cirrhosis involves medications used to treat the different types of hepatitis, such as interferon for viral hepatitis and corticosteroids for autoimmune hepatitis. Cirrhosis caused by Wilson disease, in which copper builds up in organs, is treated with medications to remove the copper.

In all cases, regardless of the cause, following a healthy diet and avoiding alcohol are essential because the body needs all the nutrients it can get, and alcohol will only lead to more liver damage. Light physical activity can help stop or delay cirrhosis as well.

If you have cirrhosis, take precautions to limit additional liver damage:

Don't drink alcohol. Whether your cirrhosis was caused by chronic alcohol use or another disease, avoid alcohol. Drinking alcohol may cause further liver damage.
Eat a low-sodium diet. Excess salt can cause your body to retain fluids, worsening swelling in your abdomen and legs. Use herbs for seasoning your food, rather than salt. Choose prepared foods that are low in sodium.
Eat a healthy diet.

Researchers have found numerous ways to improvise the action of common home remedies & developed proven systems to cure liver diseases with a guarantee.Find here how people cured fatty liver at:http://adola.net/go/fattyliver-bible/

Before you take any of the stuff people recommend on here, for goodness sakes, talk to your doctor! Herbs can interact with medications and can have side effects. If you have cirrhosis of the liver, or think you might, you really need to go to the doctor and ask THEM this question.
