they got cal at home with a bye
Oregon on the road
USC at home

all those are very winable. they can even drop the Oregon game and still be in good shape. this would be better than Oklahoma.

If they can navigate the Pac-10 schedule unscathed, they will be loved.

The computers will probably have them 1 or 2 (considering their schedule, that's a given) and ahead of Ohio St. For the voters, the jury is still out on the Sun Devils, but by the end of they will have faced Cal, Oregon, UCLA and USC and if they do well, the voters will reward them.

But given their schedule, it will be much harder for Az St to run the table than Ohio State, S. Florida or BC.

I don't know what to say about these rankings. They just are right now what they are.

If Arizona St. navigates the Pac-10 without a loss, they can certainly make a case for the title game.

Probably because they haven't been in the national spotlight since Jake "The Snake" Plummer was there. And coincidentally it was the Buckeyes who beat them in the 1996 Rose Bowl.
