The best way to conceive is to watch your body with many ways to see when you ovulate. First you can track your cycle on line with a free calender using www.babyhopes.com If you have an average 28 day cycle then you would more then likely ovulate 14 days after the first day of your last period. Also you can track your basal body temp. Every morning wake up and take your temp before you get out of bed and write it down. A day or so before ovulation there will be a slight spike in temps. Also you can watch cervical mucus also known as discharge. A few days before ovulation it will become somewhat clear and stretchy. Similar to a raw egg white. And last lastly buy a home ovulation predictor kit. They are very accurate. Then around the time of ovulation for at least 5 days before and 3 days after have sex every other day to allow the sperm to get stronger. After sex lay on your back with a pillow under your hips which allows the sperm to pool against your cervix. To take a home pregnancy test it is best to wait until the day your period should start. If its negative and you don't get your period wait a few more days and test again.

Ovulation generally occurs about 2 weeks before your period, which with a normal cycle is 2 weeks after the start of your period. So if you have a normal 28 day cycle, then you'll ovulate about 2 weeks after the start of your period. However, if you're like most people, and aren't "normal", that doesn't help much.
Take a couple months to figure out how long your cycle is, and then you can figure out when you'll be ovulating. In the meantime, try to have sex every other day or so from a couple days after your period ends until you get your next period, which should cover your bases for whenever you do ovulate.
The numbers I've heard are that you'll get the most accurate results for pregnancy tests if you wait until 14-18 days past ovulation.

I ovulated 19 days into my cycle last month. This month I am on day 19 and no ovulation yet. You should ideally ovulate 14 days before the start of your next period. But this is only accurate in like 20% of women. It is best to learn the symptoms and signs of ovulation and do that. Read the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" It will help you alot with this. You should wait until 18 dpo to test to get an accurate result. Best of luck ttc!!!!!!!!!!

About two weeks after the first day of your last period you can begin to ovulate. Look for clear discharge. After you miss your first period you can take a test.

It's roughly 2 weeks before you get your period meaning if you have a 28-day cycle, you would have ovulated on day 14 and if you have a 35-day cycle, you would have ovulated on day 21. However, going by this is highly inaccurate and you should instead pay attention to your body and watch out for fertility signs (cervical mucus, basal body temperature etc.)

most ladies aren't reguler, so I'll be real hard to predict ovulation, If you do have a reguler cycle its best to start ttc on cd 10, most ladies ovulates on the 14 day but its best to start ttc before ovulation not on ovulation, the chances are high when the sperm meets the egg, now if your talking about a pregnancy test wait atlest a week after you are suppose to get a period,

2 weeks. You should wait until its time for your next period to take a test. Especially if that period is late.
