True. Every man I ever dated, not that there were a whole lot of them, was controlling in some manner or other.
But, the one I will never forget was so controlling he was abusive. I wasn't allowed out of the house without him, except to work. I had to do everything he said, the way he said it because if I didn't I would get hit. I was sick one time while I was with him and he beat me because he said I wasn't really sick, I was just trying to get attention. I wasn't allowed to have any friends. I did everything to make it right, but according to him I was stupid, fat, lazy, etc. I finally couldn't take it anymore. I left him. I was one of the ones who was lucky enough to get away. Many women or men aren't as fortunate.

True the person tried to control what I wore, didn't want me going anywhere without their knowledge, the other one they would call me all the time even on their work breaks if they couldn't reach me they would call my best friend, I've also had them try to get me to be with them and only them trust me those relationships didn't last long, and that's probably why I didn't date much.

Yes I've been to one and yes the problems got resolved but you need participation from both ends to resolve the problems.

True. It was my first relationship, and we both tried to control the other. Thankfully I've since wised up.

Yes!
My ex would somehow know everything I did and who I talked to (and he still does). He wouldn't let me go out with friends because he had some sort of problem with each one. He'd flip out of I went out/stayed out late but he got to go strip clubs and not get home til 4am. He's had this control I felt I was helpless in until I got out of the relationship. I had to take drastic measures to get out but I did it.
