"NTT" may be the error code assigned to this problem. You may find it if you can find a book listing all the error codes, or you may have to take it to the dealer or a repair shop.

Transmission work isn't cheap - major repairs can run well into 4 figures. It's usually cheaper to catch it early and fix it before it turns into something major.

Off to the Ford garage with you, I think.

An incorrect bulb can cause that warning light to illuminate. Another possibility is a bad Lamp Failure Indicator Sensor, part number 89373-AA040 (Toyota suggested retail $254.10). With an electrical problem like that the only way to know for sure is to have it diagnosed at a Toyota dealership or qualified shop.

Head over to www.newcougar.org and www.teamneco.com

There you'll find any answer you would ever want to know about these cars. There are a few Ford mechanics over there who will help you out if no one else can, but more than likely most of the people there will be able to tell you the problem immediately.

well, I dont really know what the NTT malfunction is but, you might just need to replace the tranny filter. my explorer was doing similar stuff, and I replaced it and it was fine.
