"Expungement" is when somthing is purged from any "record" (usually a state criminal record). There are some instances where you can have your record automatically expunged by going through a period of probation or counseling (this is sometimes called a suspended sentence or similar terminology)--you stay clean for a while, the fact that you committed the crime will disappear from your record.

You can also sometimes petition a court or, more likely, an executive (through the pardon process) to have the record expunged. There are also some states that allow a judge to expunge a criminal record (especially a felony) under certain extraordinary circumstances. These petitions are rarely granted however.

They're all right hon. Contact the County Attorney for more information about expunging charges from your record, but considering who their buddy is, well, good luck.

expungment and YOU don't do it. You petition the court and if there are grounds, the court will order the record expunged.
