Name a celebrity who does good things for society but doesn't get recognition for it?

I mean like Paris Hilton has given money to charities and has really done some good things for society, but all we hear about her is her partying. Michael Jackson has put together multiple charities to help less fortunate, and all we hear about him is his tabloid stories.

Michael just does it for publicity? is that what you mean? Michael is always writing songs about how people need to help less fortunate and the world:

I highly doubt he does it just for the publicity, it's in his heart, it's something he feels he can do that is positive with all the money he has.

And before people hated on him for being accused of child molestation (which isn't true) Michael devoted the majority of his time in promoting his causes, he could have just been a selfish celebrity and not done anything, but he didn't, he wanted to do something good for the world. That's what he felt was his purpose for being who he is.

That question is kind of impossible to answer, isn't it? Unless we personally know a celebrity and know their personal business, how can we know what they have contributed to society but nobody else knew about it? We can only know because we hear about it on the news or read about it in some literature that uses them as a way of attracting attention to a specific cause or as a spokesperson. Many organizations intentionally use celebrities in order to bring attention to their cause. Most celebs have PR persons who's job it is to make sure the public knows what a wonderful, generous person he/she is.

I personally am not friends with any celebs nor do I work for one, so I cannot answer the question.
