popcorn the old fashioned way........
I mean really, I was thinking about it, my teenagers didn't even know there was another way to pop popcorn besides throwing a bag in the microwave and pushing the popcorn timer button....

yes when growing up we had a real thick pot with a heavy top for pressure cooking you just melted plenty of butter a nd keep shaking till you stop hearing kernals popping. it was so much fumn doing it with the rest of the family then sitting down together watching walt disney or saturday night at the movies ha im telling my age lol lol

There are many old ways. The oldest one is putting fine sands in an iron hemispherical bowl shaped utensil on the stove & stirring sand till it is uniformly hot. After that raw corns are poured in that & it is again stirred with a metal flat bar till all pop up . This takes about half a minute. After that the sand is filterd out by using a seive. In Indian villages mostly people do like this even today.

Yeah. You take a non stick pot place it on heat and pour about a tablespoon of olive oil on first then you add the desired amount of popcorn. Put the lid on and let it pop away. I was just as suprised as you when I saw this.

I remember making popcorn in a pot on the stove. It was a treat with some soda on a Saturday night...

My mother used to make it in a covered pot on the stove. TV Time Popcorn! I remember it well.

Good old cast iron pan, a bag of Jolly time and a bottle of oil! Oh yeah, that was the only way we ever had it then came Jolly Time (The expanding top).

Yes, many times. My wife grab a horse by anoos and a turn stick for making popping corn. Very nice!

Yes, I have. We had one of the long handled popcorn poppers you put over the fire and we'd make it in the fireplace!
