Choose where you are going to shave your legs--in the bathtub, where only your legs will get wet, or during a shower?
For the bathtub, turn on the bath water to a comfortable temperature. Spread a towel out on the side of the bathtub where you will sit.
Shave during the shower if you are pressed for time and once you are comfortable shaving your legs. Although you are standing up, the water rubs the hairs straight off so you can see where there are still hairs.
Wet a sharp razor and your legs with warm, not hot, water. Heat will relax the hair follicles, making them easier to shave.
Lather shaving gel on your legs, front and back, lather it as far up as you want to shave.
Lightly slide the razor up your legs. Be sure to go slow if this is your first time. If you go too fast with an unsteady hand, you will be sure to get cuts and nicks on your legs. Rinse. Repeat. Start at the front of your leg and slowly work around, going back over the area more than once to make sure you don't leave any hairs behind. Put on more gel if necessary.
Rinse your razor for next time, or else it'll soon be useless. To keep your razor clean and sharp, store it in a cup of hydrogen peroxide.
Pat dry with a towel.
Apply lotion to your legs to moisturize and ward off razor burn.
Instead of using shaving cream, you can also shave with lotion. Before you shower, rub lotion all over your legs, without rubbing it in.Coat your legs just like you would with shaving gel or cream. Then, shave. This alternate to shaving cream makes your legs crazy soft after you are done shaving, rinse off and rub in your routine post-shaving lotion like normal.
The first few times you shave, go very easy with the pressure until you get used to exactly what it takes. If you press too hard, you'll cut yourself, so be easy. Start out light, and when/if you realize it's not working, you can press a little harder.
Take special care when shaving the knees.
Wash out the tub when you're done - don't leave a hairy mess behind.
Don't use an electric razor when starting out. You will get nicks and razor burns.
You'll get best results with a new, sharp razor - change them frequently.
Rubbing an ice cube on your legs right after shaving will make them as smooth as glass.
If you want smooth legs but can't get to a shower/tub, try covering your legs with a thick coat of lotion and then shaving it off for a very smooth shave. Rinse out the lotion and hair from the razor in a cup of water or wipe it on a cloth.
Once you've been shaving for a while, a razor with built in shave bars is a great way to shave armpits and legs, minus the shave gel!
Do not shave dry.
Go around bruises and cuts, and be light, as to avoid nicks and razor burns.
Be light on the knees, ankles, shins, and other "bony" parts of your body to avoid cutting the top layer of skin.

I found if I shave this way........ its fine and smooth with no bumps whatsoever...........
Take a warm bath.. before u shave there.. lather with a female shaving gel.... that wil soften the hair..... use a brand New razor..........shave in the direction of the hair.... don't shave an area more than 2-3 times........
after you are done... dry and moisturise the area with a light moisturiser and apply some good powder for dryness..
avoided scented products..
hope that helps for you and give u relief from ingrowns and itching..
Good luck!

The first time I shaved I did it without any tips or help.
All you do is get shaving cream on your face and then use the shaver to get it off.
But make sure the shaver you use is compatible to your face because my mom bought me a shaver and it didn't shave at all but hurt really bad and bleed a lot.
Surprisingly the next one she bought was perfect.
My shaver is called Schick.
So go get a Schick for your first shaver.
