You can get pregnant if you aren't already pregnant. Go to the store and buy a test.
One thing that I did to help me out, and I kept doing it even after I started the pill. You know the little calendars usually in front of day planners that have 3 or more years on them. I always mark when I have my period. When I started on pills I moved to calendars where it's the year on one regular sheet of paper, I mark when I start the inactive peels, when I start my period and if there's any time when I throw up or feel sick.
And birth control taking three months is beyond a myth, usually it's in your system after the first week but you should be uber careful the first month just to be safe. And you should never have unprotected sex unless you want to get pregnant.
Have you looked into how effective birth control is, not the 99% effective line they give you because it's only 99% effective if it's used absolutely perfectly. I've seen real life estimates as low as 83%. That's why people always yell at other people for not using a condom because they're on the pill.
EDIT - with pills, just because you're taking the "reminder" ones doesn't mean your period will start that day.

If you're just starting BC your periods could be messed up. Depending on what pills you started taking when, maybe you'll miss a period to start with.
If you had unprotected sex, you could very well be pregnant. If you've been on the pill for at least a month, it's VERY unlikely, but not impossible. If you missed a pill or especially 2, then it's not impossible either.
There's only 2 ways to find out:
(1) Wait until you're a week overdue, then take a home test.
(2) Wait a few months and see if you need new clothes.
Meanwhile, until you're sure, keep taking the pills. I also suggest you get something like condoms until you're sure you've taken everything properly for 3 months.
Otherwise, you could take up knitting baby clothes.

You will have to get a home pregnancy test. You can purchase one anywhere for about 5 dollars, but be aware that sometimes you can get false negative responses (meaning, it will come out negative, but you really are pregnant). If you take one and it comes out negative, wait another week and take another. Or visit your doctor for a blood test.

You could be pregnant.
Talk to you mom and possibly buy a HPT [home pregnancy test].
Also, try a condom next time.
