He used to sleep through the night until he got croup about 3 mo ago. Since then he usually woke up a couple times a night. It was getting better, but then last week he started waking up every 2-3 hrs. The only way he will settle down is to nurse. I've tried all sorts of things, so he doesn't think he needs to eat every time he wakes up. I've tried his pacifier and music and lights thing and rubbing his back and cheek while in his crib still, but he just screams. I've tried rocking him and walking around with him, nothing. The only way he will stop crying and go back to sleep is when I break down and let him nurse. Once he is asleep I tried letting him sleep with us, which usually makes him sleep longer, but didn't work this week. His dad has even tried the same things, thinking it was maybe just me, but same thing, I ended up having to let him nurse. Is this maybe just a growth spurt or is this going to continue until I change something? Any help is appreciated.

Yes let him Nurse as much as he wants i breastfeed my daughter till she was 11 1/2 months and her feedings were sometimes every 4 hours or could be every 2 hours through out the whole day,it happens. His body could be going through a growth spurt and could NEED extra Nutrition dont worry it will pass b4 u know it.

I think your baby is waking up because he is hungry. Speak to his doctor, perhaps it is time to introduce cereal into his diet.
