I believe it is just a matter of your preference. If it's a nice picture of you and/or your hubby (I mean you don't want to look like franenstein's wife!), I think it would be just find to send that out as a birth announcement picture. It's your celebration - do as you please! Congratuations to you!

I just sent pictures of the baby. But you can do whatever you want to. I've seen lots of announcement for second and third children with all the kids in the picture. And I've seen announcements with the baby and the parents. Personally I like the idea of the baby having his or her own announcement, so that's what I did.

Just the baby with the parents names included in the announcement. It is all about the baby, unlike a holiday card which is about family and can include everyone.
