Bush will go down in history as the stubbornest, dumbest President of the past 100 years. The Iraq war should never have been fought. Nothing even resembling Democracy will ever develop in Iraq. You can't impose Democracy on people, it has to come from within. The only solution is a political one and the Iraqi's have to figure that one out for themselves.

Bush is like any dictator--of course he hates dissent.
As for whether American soldiers die for his mistakes--he simply doesn't care. The "democracy" stuff is jsut rhetoric for the consumption of his followers.

Given that the soldiers are dying, being maimed for other reasons than democracy it makes one wonder. However Bush is a "true believer". Therefore in his mind, righteous in his actions. Is it worth it. Not so far.
