My husband and I have been married for 17 wonderful years. We have four beautiful children who are the focus of our lives. We are extremely happy, and I can honestly say that we have lived a fairy tale.
I have kept the home pregnancy test sticks from all of my pregnancies. They have remained wrapped inside a plastic sandwich bag since the night(s) we got the happy news. Two nights ago, my husband apparently discovered them for the first time. I caught him opening the bag, and taking each stick out and…tasting them.
I was both mortified and disgusted. After the third one, I shouted out to him, startling him. He dropped the stick, picked it up, quickly placed it back in the baggie, tossed it in the drawer, and ran out of the room like a CHILD!
Because of this incident, I can’t ever view him the same way again. Did I marry a monster? I am seriously considering filing for divorce. What should I do?

Yet, you are now considering a divorce because he licked a pregnancy stick? Are you mad?
What he did was weird, but if you're willing to put your family through the pain of divorce over this (after acknowledging 17 wonderful years), I would be more worried about yourself - It seems you're equally disturbed.

1] What makes you think he even knew what those things were? I'll bet it's been a long time since he's seen or even thought about one.
2] Maybe he's secretly into, or at least curious about, certain "alternative" erotic avenues. After 17 years of a "fairy tale" marriage he at the very least deserves a conversation.
3] Urine is sterile to begin with, and one doesn't need a medical degree to know that, years after a single drop was placed on those sticks, not a trace of it remains. Is it possible that (since you point out he's never found them before) he was concerned that you may think you're pregnant NOW and have been testing RECENTLY? And all he really is is a misguided Sherlock Holmes?
As HIM about this incident, as opposed to millions of strangers, most of them children, who will only offer "ewww gross!" as an "answer."
Only your husband has the answer.

As shocking, and frankly strange, as what you saw was, I think you should calm down, and not do anything to hasty. Remember you have four children in this, and a divorse could realy harm them. You should talk to your husband about what happened, he might have some weird fettish or desires, that he was trying fufill by doing what he did. i am not saying that what your husband did was not weird or strange, but he most likely ran because he knows this himself, and was afraid of your reaction! Talk to him, before you decide on anything drastic....Good Luck!

Husbands drinking quarts of vodka per night, multiple affairs, gambling all their money away, addiction to porn, spending nights at the strip club, wife beaters, liars, cheaters, drug addicts, women going with them on "business trips" and you want a divorce because he was licking a pregnancy test strip ??

I doubt he is a monster. However, I too would have a big problem viewing him the same as before.
Apparently he is embarrassed about it so he knows what he did.
I have no advice for you. Just sympathy. Yuk.

Has he ever preformed oral sex on you before? If so, he got a taste of your pee a long time ago, whether you/he realized it or not.

First of all, how could you keep something you peed on?

Second, what he did was even worse. I hope you're making this up!!!! (And why didn't you stop him until he got to the 3rd one?) EWWW.
Sit him down and talk to him about it. Don't just fly off the

why would you get divorced? he didn't kill anyone or anything. maybe you both need to be a little more open in your communication. maybe he has some kind of fantasies about things that he feels he can't discuss with you because you wouldn't understand. If one of your children ate bugs everyday you wouldn't dis-own them would you?
