Almost drowning in a raging river. The fact I'm here says: yes, I do believe in miracles! Another very scary moment was while I was rappelling down a tall cliff and the rope stopped feeding. Stuck, dangling about 150' from the top, and Lord knows how far to the bottom. Didn't know what to do or how to fix it. Panic started to rise with my voice, because that rope was my life and I was helpless. Then, I noticed the D clip had fouled, and my only recourse was to do the very thing that was REALLY scary--bounce my weight on the rope to force the snag through the clip. Not a pro move, but it got me down safe. Whew! Never again.

Got my torso x-rayed to check my spine, and, after 17 years of smoking, saw a dark mass right where I figured my lung was. Scared the hell out of me. Was nothing, but still, it was a heart stopper.

Being born...
It was so traumatizing that I forgot all about it.
Don't even mention conception...
