They annoy me. I have done this once by accident cause i thought i had already voted but apart from that i choose a best answer every time and its not just for that 1 point you get for it - its to show common curtosy and so they know that their answer has been read and appreciated.

I find it sad, therefore, when people write long and thought out answers to questions and you find out that they were voted best answer by the viewers to a topic.

So, does this annoy you too?

absolutely. If I take the time to craft a well thought out answer, the asker should take the time to acknowledge it, whether he or she chooses my answer as best or not.

i'd be somewhat annoyed, yet i'm getting the position human beings are coming from, because now and again i do not vote for a perfect answer. now and again i don't like each and every of the solutions, or i won't be able to decide on. there is too a lot pressure! Hahahahaaaaaa.

I was thinking of posting this question, yes a lot of new users have appeared and they use the account to get answers to their homework then create a new account and ask more questions. Even when they get a perfect answer and they use it without credit they won't give a best answer, to top things off they don't even select the "No best answer" option which at least tells us to not answer that person's questions again!!
If they take out the time to ask the question, check the answer to use the answer in their assignment or life, they might as well have the respect and etiquette to post their opinion on the answer, but that is unfortunately their right not to do so.
Another problem(the main one) of yahoo answers is that you cannot select a best answer for 4 hours!! This is ridiculous as the question rarely gets additional answers after the first hour or so. So many people don't even bother to sign in later on to give a best answer because they can't assign it when they use the answer. Yahoo needs to update their policy!

It doesn't annoy me at all.

Sometimes when I ask a question I leave it up to the voters to choose a best answer on purpose. If there are a lot of good answers and I am torn about choosing ONE then I leave it up to Y!A members to choose.

If I find a clear best answer then I choose.

What does annoy me is when people don't stick to the topic of the question, instead using a question to spew some off topic diatribe, oppose the topic in which you seek an answer of just post some silly senseless message in hopes that no one else will answer and they will be best answer by default.

Yeah. I figured some answers were important or worthy of being chosen... then, some idiotic answer gets BA for no good reason. Might be the voting squad's quick trigger fingers or someone voting themselves in with multiple accounts. The most irritating is if you score first in line with the actual right answer and then someone on page two gets BA with the same answer, gee whiz!!

More so, I've seen questions with an idiotic answer receive BA through voting because it was the only answer. lolz

I always try and vote for a best answer but sometimes lots of the answers are the same and all as good as each other so it's a bit unfair to choose one over another.

Do you mean the question asker not choosing a best answer? I don't always choose a best answer because I don't think it's fair to select one answer, especially when there's usually many answers that deserve to "win". If could donate 10 of my points to each answer I get I would, just to be fair!
Have I misunderstood your question?

hi i haven't been here long so haven't got much experience about best answers etc, but yes i can understand that if you have taken the time to answer someone and to help them out it is annoying if the person asking the question doesn't vote.
its kind of rude isn't it

I not annoyed but maybe disappointed...

It would be more fun if they would vote. When I fist started answering and asking I was unaware of a lot of things but I am shaping up and flying right! Live and learn..( not only that I am a blonde....what a dilemma).

Maybe your question will bring it to the attention of others that can help them as it has me. thanks

It doesn't annoy me, but if you don't vote for a best answer, you lose out on the points.
