We just bought a scratch and dent dryer, (brand new) and have had problems with it drying a full load, without putting it thru 2 dryer cycles. Store owner said to unhook hose to wall and see if it'll dry if it's unhooked. Worked like a button. He said that the problem is the vent is clogged. We tried to use a snake on it....and checked both openings (inside & out) for lint. Then called our apts. They supposedly checked the vent, and fixed. Well, we are still having problems. Store owner brought over a brand new dryer, and said if this doesnt work, you know it's the vent, still. So it doesnt work........Do we need to call the apartments again to clean the vent out????????
I am sure it's not the dryer, as it WILL DRY A LOAD PERFECTLY, unhooked from the wall.

Call them and tell them that they can come out and unclog it or you will just run the dryer unhooked. Mold will more than like like start to form and then they will have a bigger problem on their hands. Sometimes you need to motivate property managers to get things done.

Sounds like the store you bought it from has done a good job keeping you happy. Now you have to get the apartment people to do the same. It sounds like the problem lies in the vent. If the vent hose is obstructed, it will take longer fore the clothes to dry. My daughter ran hers for two weeks and it would not dry unless she ran it through three cycles. Come to find out, she wasn't emptying the lint filter. Once she did, it dried in one cycle.

How long is the run from the dryer to the outside? If the run is really long it's virtually the same as having it plugged. Also, if there are lots of corners to go around.

Ask some of your neighbors to see if they are having the same problem.

You've already answered your own question... if it's not the dryer, the problem is with the vent and you need to inform maintenance that their fix didn't work.

It could be that you are putting too much in the dryer at once. I know sometimes I get damp laundry back from the dryer and it's just because the load was too large.

then it's the vent. What you could do is tell them(the apt) that you will get it fixed and then bill them for it if you want to do it properly.
