If this ends up being the BCS game, does it prove that the BCS is garbage, by not making all schools play championship games (no matter how many teams are in the league), you allow teams to schedule light and every 3 or 4 years OSU or Mich will waltz into the title game just by pure schedule...

While I'm a strong believer in the fact that rankings are week by week, and that this week, both teams deserve their rankings, I also believe the BCS is crap. It punishes teams from tougher conferences and allows teams from big, but not as competitive conferences to coast in the top 10 while teams above them are losing. I wish it would change, but the BCS committee is narrow minded and thick headed.

You don't waltz into the the title game, you win the games on the schedule. If USC hadn't lost by now, would you be saying the same thing? If Michigan hasn't lost by now, would you chastise their schedule making?

The bottom line is, you're not going to get "tough" non-conference scheduling because the conference games are hard enough. And just because the entire Big 10 isn't ranked doesn't mean those games are cupcake games. The Buckeyes still have to play Illinois (who by the way, didn't forget how to run the spread option) and play AT Michigan, which is a tough game no matter what Michigan's record currently is.

If you have a playoff, you're gonna have to cut out ALL non-conference scheduling and you'll be cutting short everyone elses season. Also, how will Notre Dame sneak into the playoff like they usually do if only 8 teams are in it? There are so many issues with a playoff and people will still complain about it once they get their way.

OK , check it out each team makes up their own schedule correct? Then why all of this BCS is wrong it keeps teams Out. I hear enough of that crap from SEC fans, With their we always beat ourselves out. Deal with it Until you build a Powerhouse SEC team they can defeat every team in your conference Shut the Hell up.. The AP poll is Associated Press, "Hello" Sports Writers, Give them a break Their are plenty of good teams in the NCAA that do great things but Remember it is broke down by every Dynamic of the Teams Strength, Not because they got a RB that can bust a move and score 2 or 3 touchdowns a game or because you got a QB who can throw the ball 60 yards sitting down... You want the truth here it No Body is gonna go watch LSU play Hawaii or Ohio State Play Rutgers. It is just not gonna happen. Ohio State got monkey stomped last year by Florida.. Why I know some of the key players on the Scarlet and Gray side saw how hard the defense was hitting and said I got a 10 million dollar NFL contract waiting on me, Their is no way I am gonna get hurt and jeopardize that deal... Bottom Line up front if you want a real college championship game here is what you do ;
1. Get real College players ( not the ones who can run a 4.3 forty / but can not even read the scouting report their own name is on)
2.Keep the Money out of the game (esp. the players pockets)

It doesn't surprise me that South Florida is #2 on the BCS rankings, as that system is very decieving as it discounts strength of schedule and has no regard for margin of victory. On other, more accurate listings, South Florida is as low as #6 (BGS Ratings), which is where they should be. That said, should the Bulls run the table and finish as one of two undefeated teams, they should be entitled to a championship berth.

It's actually very refreshing to see a school like South Florida get a legitimate shot after seeing programs like Boise State and Marshall get snubbed in recent years. However, I still believe the old guard will have something to say about that and try sneek in some 1 or 2 loss program (Michigan? USC?), like they did with Nebraska a few years ago.

South Florida is for real but OSU one can only imagine because they haven't been tested. OSU could go undefeated up until the championship game and not have had to play a Top 20 team. Imagine that!
I would love to see a BCS championship game between OSU and South Florida. Oscar Mayer wieners could be the primary sponsor. I mean it would be great to see the NCAA president, the Big-10 commissioner and OSU coach sing the Oscar Mayer wiener song as a trio. Then South Florida would ridicule OSU like Florida did last year. Now that would be special and the weiners are OSU!!!!!

OHIO STATE. Im afraid that USF has beaten at least 3 top 25 teams. Not just top 25 no name teams. The teams that they did beat were actually really good. I went to school with Matt Grothe. The QB for USF. He was a starting Freshman QB ini High school. at a 6A school. He is a good leader, and a good QB. Ohio State is always over rated. I hate the BCS. cause i think the little BCS MACHINE IS ON FIRE AND MALFUNCTIONING AFTER THIS INSANE SEASON. There are still like 6 weeks or so left in the reg. season. If USF makes it to the BCS Championship this year. That would have earned my respect and everyone elses. There like a 1AA team too. that is insane that a 1AA team has whomped there competion. MAN I LOVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

OSU, and South Florida will both lose before the end of the season, so we'll probably be seeing a couple of one loss teams in the championships which will finally destroy the BCS system, because I think that OSU, Oklahoma, USC, and LSU will all have one loss and they are all big schools that you can't rightly keep out of the championship game. Because there would to much out-rage over it. So I think this year will be the deathy of the BCS.

Its too early in the year to care about the rankings. South Florida if you actually have watched their games has an impressive defense and a true star QB who is clearly a gamer when it matters. OSU also has what appears to be a strong defense, but an unproven quarterback. Neither team should be top 5, but I'm pretty convinced South Florida is a legit top 10 team after seeing their big games this year.

More than likely, the polls won't look like they do by the end of the season. I like USF but I just don't see their cinderella story carrying them for the rest of the year. OSU is a good team but has had an easy schedule so far. Don't expect them to be in the National Championship either. I still think it will be LSU vs. ?

It happens! USC won a couple of championships by being in a weak conference and playing bad teams. I agree that the BCS needs to go and we need a playoff system. Ohio State is a lie, but I look at South Florida and they have convinced me that they are real. South Florida I believe can play with anyone. At least this year they deserve to be where they are.
