It depends. There are variables we do not know.

If he/she doesn't want to acknowledge you even if he/she knows you: either

1. he/she has become too big/important for you or
2. he/she is in a situation where he wants to hide his/her past and there is danger of you revealing that, without meaning to, to the person your old friend is with.

If it is the former, tough luck. Don't feel like a loser.
If it is the latter, don't worry. Your friend will find a way to see you when the person he/she is with is not looking.

I'd think, "Man, it's been a LONG time since the last time we met!" People change. Was the conversation cordial after he said 'do I know you?' If so, good feelings reign. If not, then just chalk it off to the passage of time. Enjoy your other friends - friendship is an incredible gift!

a-w-k-w-a-r-d obviously...but since it's a long-lost friend, i won't get offended immediately since i might have been too assuming in the first place that i considered the person very important in my life but unfortunately he/she never felt the same way...what's important then is how to be able to handle sensitive moments like this so that in the future you will be guided on the right things to say or do when confronted with similar situations...

i guess the key here is not to be 'pikon' since it might be an honest mistake on your friend's part. if the person does not still remember you, then it is his/her loss...remember that: "what goes around comes around"...

This only happens between males and females. He is being aloof and is looking for a reaction from you like a swat in the head. He will then laugh and you 2 will resume your relationship from where you left off. You are playing right into his hand. men are so smart.

You should not feel bad about it. As times changes the look changes too. If it is someone friendly you may like to invite her/him for a coffee and start to recall both of your memories. That's what i do. Do not feel bad about it you should feel great you have good memory. And Believe it or not the person will feel great and honour that he/she is in someone mind.

YOUR QUESTION REFERS TO A "YOU", OK? SO, I will answer from MY point of view.

If we are alone, I'd give him one hard on the belly to make him remember.

If the friend happens to be a girl, she's probably right. She doesn't know me at all, and I was just trying to pass off as an old friend. Trying to git away with it.

Someday you'll be the one that doesn't recognize the old friend. I'd just be polite and remind the person of our connection and be obviously glad to see the person but not annoying.

He could have been more tactful but you know, times change, people change and life does go on. I doubt if I would remember everyone from my past.

I would feel that I must have really changed or he is suffering from memory problems.
