ok i'm at the part where i'm fighting the fox guy in the bird cage, my question is how do i reach the health that is on the high ledge? i tried using my range stance but nothing works? i don't think i can jump and my sword has no effect, help?

I think you can only reach it by countering his aerial attacks.
i.e. hold R1 when he launches a yellow one, then press and hold triangle as it hits you to reflect it back. Use the sixaxis to guide it back to the pot.
don't hold anything for the blue attack then press and hold triangle again to reflect that one back.
The timing's a bit tricky sometimes, but you can also send the beams back to that git who hurt poor Kai!
