So tell us Jen, who would you choose to provide us with critical services? AIG, GM, Lehman Bros, Enron... do enlighten us how this would work? Being that half of the American banks in the past 2 years has had to beg the incompetent govt for money so that they could stay in business and not send us back to the 1400's So tell us??? Or are you going to ignore the reality and complexity of the situation and do what the guy below me just did... scribble offf 5 paragraphs of ideological bull chit that you got from a tea party rally.

Fire protection, police protection and other emergency services, mail, agricultural subsidies, I've only worked for the state and federal govt so the govt also has provided my health insurance benefits. Education, roads, public airwaves for both radio and tv, etc.

MIlitary protection, the operation of the court system, police enforcement of laws and detention of lawbreakers, and maybe maintenance of public roads and highways for infrastructure. Other than that, let the market do its work.
