when i joined the army i wasn't paid for 3 months then my car was repoed i spent 9,000 dollars to get it back a year later after accepting my payments i got a letter saying we want 17,000 dollars by the end of the month or your car i keep making payments they keep taking them nobody has ever come by and everytime i call im on hold for 1 to 4 hours i guess my question is does this sound like bullshit and would they have to notify my chain of command "higher ups" before taking the car thank u for time

If you are not current on your payments they can repossess your car. The fact that they accepted your payments does not suspend the rights they have to collect the debt. If you have been behind for over a year, it is likely they are defaulting your loan.

They are not required to inform your chain of command about the repossession. In fact it is illegal for them to disclose financial in formation about you to a third party.

I have always been a fan of making these kinds of communications in writing. Since you have not been able to contact them by phone, write a letter.
