Im confused .? I thought at sixteen you were classed as a non dependant and treated like an adult and child benefit stopped because you can leave school and get full time employment, so theres no need for benefits. Now the taxcredit system is here its 19-20.The law says your are an adult when your 18 . So why are the government still paying tax credits etc for young people to work full time and do 12hrs college (which is classed as fultime education) Do u think the benefits system has gone wrong by classing adults as children ?

You are confusing being "classed" as children with being classified as a "dependent." There ARE differences.

you are still legally a child until you no longer have any age laws against you. such as drinking at 18.
technically you are a yound adult at the age of 16 when you are able to leave home and get married with parents consent, but in saying that, you still need parental consent , so your still classed as a child.
people always recieve benefits as long as they are in full time education , this is because school is classed as a childs ideology.

i could be really controversial and say you are only classed as an adult when you are ready to become an adult , this can depend on maturity and class

:)

When they cease to be insulted by being referred to as kids instead of children, they may then grow up to be decent human beings having received respect at an early age instead of being referred to as Goats.
