There r times when I'm sitting somewhere, beit at a beach or looking over a gorge or looking at an amazing waterfall or a breathtaking sunset/sunrise - it is hard not to feel insignificant surrounded by such beauty that human hands will never create. And yet, this world is not complete without me...makes u appreciate people in a whole new light - everyone has a purpose and is important in some way. That is mindboggeling!
It can even be just seeing an unselfish act of kindness...it gives me hope that people r capable of loving when they allow themselves. I don't care who u r or how cold hearted u consider urselves, when u see a true act of unselfishness and kindness, it does something to u.
I've got a couple of "story poems" that r really inspirational towards treating people with love and kindness that I look at every now and then.

Yes, and many songs can do this..and right now I cant think of anything....but driving on the highway, looking into the blue sky and seeing an airplane or a bird flying towards the clouds give me pause...for that which is greater and in control, knowing that even though things look bad, are bad and I am not here.......this Earth, will continue....and all that is....

Man, that song always reduces me to tears, always has, always will. It's good to know that someone else gets the same reaction and I'm not being some over-sentimental sissy about it! It's the same thing that happens at the end of the movie 'Field of Dreams'. I start bawling like a baby!

Yeah, I have had something happen to make me realize how lucky and blessed I am (My blood sugar dropped out while I was sleeping, went into a diabetic seizure, and all I know is that I woke up with 6 EMT's in the room, an IV in my arm and my Mom crying..Luckily she had been staying over that night), and completely "kicked" me out of the severe depression I was in....

Mom wanted this song played at her funeral. Which we did. Now every time I hear it I cry like a baby. I love that song and you too.

absolutely that song. It makes me feel hopeful that like once was good and CAN be again. It puts things in perspective when things go bad.
