Those are Converse All-Stars, sometimes called Chuck Taylors, since his name appears in the little circle at the top of the high-top version. I have to admit that I am not sure who Chuck Taylor is, but I am assuming he was a baseball player back in the day, who maybe popularized the shoe, just as Michael Jordan did with the Air Jordan. They're my favorite type of sneaker and I'm so happy they're popular once again.

The second pic is of Vans. I think they're sometimes also called boat shoes. I can't believe they're popular again. They were all the rage back in the 80's when I was in school. Have a good day!

Converse or Chuck Taylors in the first.

The second ones look like old (or "fashionably distressed") Vans slip-ons.
