I suggest you visit the nine lpanets website and check out the page on Jupiter. that will have all the info you need.

And no-one discovered Jupiter. Jupiter is one of the brightest objects in the night sky, outshone only by the Moon and Venus. It's visible to the unaided eye, and has hence been known ever since people looked at the sky for the first time.
