I have had this exact problem-no honestly!!! Although it was a mouse I had nursed back to health after my cat attacked it and I was cleaning out its bedding. In the end I had to get into the bath with it, and putting both hands together eventually cornered it and scooped it up with my hands and popped it back in its box quick-wriggly little buggers! lol. If you don't much fancy touching it, how about a much larger version of the postcard and glass thing you do for flies/spiders? Its probably easy enough to get a box/jar over it (go slowly from behind and don't stand in front of a window making an outline). Just be careful how much you lift the box to slide a magazine under because they can squash themselves to a surprisingly small size. I hope you get it out safely and release it back into your garden. Good luck.
By the way, my mouse is now called Lucky! :-)

Buy a humane mouse trap, tie some string at each end, bait it with food and lower over the top of the shower doors. You will have to do this very gently so it stays set. When the mouse crosses a tilting section on the floor of the trap the exit is closed. If you can wait around you will be able to hear this. You will have to take the mouse a few miles away before you release it as they have a homing instinct. Do this as soon as possible as it will get very stressed when it finds itself trapped

Anna has the right idea - get a coffee jar, quite large, put some chocolate at the bottom, tie string round the top of the jar and reach over the doors and gentle lower the jar till it's touching the bottom of the tub at the bottom, but keep the end with the string up at an angle. Hopefully the mouse will go in the jar to get the chocolate, but then wont be able to get back out the slippery glass. Or sit and wait for the mouse to go in the jar and yank it upright, then pop the lid on and take away to a field and let it go.

Get thick, heavy winter gloves, like Skidoo gloves. Use these and pick up the mouse. Keep the bathroom door shut as you trap the mouse, so that it won't run out of the bathroom.

They don't like to get wet....seems to slow them down. I'd try pouring water in the tub over the shower doors to get it wet. Also, it will make the tub more slippery for him to move around. Then try and make a move on him.......To keep this from happening again....remove the vent cover and use screendoor screen on the inside of the vent.

Hands-On method: Thick gloves as suggested; warning: one time I did this to catch a mole in the garage sink and he found one hole in the glove and bit me.
Hands-Free method: cage or box with food in it; wait for the animal to enter
Cruel method: mouse trap in tub
Opportunistic method: use the mouse as an excuse to invite over someone you would like to date to get "help" or "advice" from them. :-)
Note: Mice are very athletic; they can jump higher and run faster than you would imagine... Good Luck! Please let us know how you do it.

drop a humane trap over the door with some string . hunger will make him go in , and you can release him at your leisure. Be careful mice are not solitary creatures, you may have more.

I guess I'm not as tolerant of mice as some of the others, but I would just whack him with the broom and scoop him out with the dust pan and give him a nice burial in the garbage can outside..........
