Only when the use of alternative fuels, such as ethanol or hydrogen, is so prevalent that the demand for gas is driven much, much lower.

No.
The Democrats are trying to pass a 50 cent FEDERAL TAX INCREASE PER GALLON right now, and demand is continuing to rise, so prices will keep going up.
We need to stop the use of ethanol, and rely on good, cheap, clean gasoline as we work on an alternative fuel that actually makes some sense.

No, don't hold your breath. The oil thing is global and it will probably get worse. When I was in Sicily in 1990 for Desert Storm they were paying about $5.00 a gallon. The US has had it good for too long and now we will have to pay the price. I think by next summer we will be paying $ 4.00 to $5.00 gallon. I would be a good idea to start selling bicycles.

Be thankful we pay roughly $5.20 a gallon here. About 1 Euro a liter. I would die for 2.00 a gallon right about now!

Yes. People in the 1970s said that prices would never fall again, but they did. There's still lots of oil.

Sure, when a loaf of bread is back down to 10 cents, a candy bar is a nickel, and the price of a new house drops back down to $15,000. Make sense?

They'll most likely get higher, and quite quickly, with the rate at which the crude oil is running out.
At least until we find a renewable alternative. Then it'll go down again.
