Only similarity between Ions and Radicals is their capacity to attache to some other molecule or group. ions have either + or - negative charge on it. Radicals may or may not have any charge, but have at least one pair or more then one pair of electrons that can be attached with other molecule or group. Free radicals in our body are considered as harmful molecules.

Both belong to the catagory of atoms or group of atoms.Ions are formed by electrolytic dissociation in an aqueous solution and radicals are formed by ordinary or thermal dissociation

Both are unstable ie. ready to react. And both have a unit positive or negative charge.
