yes it can be used as an excuse for the defeat in world cup,but you need to put some hard ass logic.Lemme help you out,indians are good at it
Because of global warming the temperature in johannesburg was very high so the water got dried up, thus there was a water supply shortage in the hotel, so the australians couldt take bath and by the time the match started all of them were smelling like rotten spuds and they couldnt make any plan for the match as they couldnt stand each others body odour but indians are pretty used to water shortage thus they faced no such problem and won the match inspite of smelling each other's sweat
So its all because of global warming you see.Screw it

What does Global Warming had to do for the defeat?? And Ind just won the T20 WC. Which country and which sport are you talking about?
Be it any sport, any country, how could you ever possibly link sports defeat with Global warming??? lol
