Has anyone got any ideas on how best to move on an old 17" CRT monitor? We've offered it free to collector on Freecycle and in the Friday ad but nobody seems interested. We don't really want to dump it as it's in good working condition, but lack of space meant that we're moved onto a TFT.

PS. If anyone is in East Sussex and would be interested in taking it away, please email.

It's sad, but old CRT monitors are a drug on the market. Shops are selling new 17" ones for under £25...

If noone wants it for free in freecycle, see if any schoold or charities in yoru area want it.

Otherwise do what I did with a couple of working 15" ones... down the refuse transfer station into the scrap TVs and Monitors container. Really bad I know, but no-one is interested in them for anything but landfill or recycling.

If you can't get someone to collect it, why not call a local charity shop see if they can sell it and use the funds for a good cause.

I know many do not take electricals, but might be worth asking. Not sure the local council collect free, but you can ask them.

Failing that, sit it outside, under plastic with 1 of 2 notes attached "Free to good home" (Might get taken) or "For sale £20" Almost guaranteeed to get stolen (hence used by SOMEONE)

i do no longer think of there's a suitable/incorrect answer to this question. My daughter is 5 and that i nevertheless have a video reveal in her room. I actually have a chop up-mattress room layout, with my room on the different factor of the domicile. She's incredibly self sustaining, getting up in center of night to bypass potty or get a drink, and that i like to take heed to whilst she's up and around.

There are so many going to the dump as everyone is buying the flat screens. I went to the dump a week ago and there are hundreds and according to the people who works there most of them still work. They are just obsolete. Take them to the dump huin

Go to an internet cafe, they normally buy stuff like that, don't expect more than around £20 though... worth a try, depends on quality and spec

I agree with SmallTownCop - but put a sign on it that says. Please do not touch - being collected in 12 hours. It will disappear as quick as lightening.
