Go for it. 57°F can feel quite warm if there's little or no wind and the sun is shining, it can also feel quite cold it it's wet and windy. Take a chance and hope for the best but have a back up plan just in case.

It depends, if you are going to the beach for sun and swimming I would say it is probably not the best choice.

If you are going for the scenery or just to relax, bundle up, grab an umbrella and go! I have family friends that live near Rialto Beach outside of Seattle and I love going to play on the beach- even though it is much different than going to the sunny Padre Island or Galveston I am used to.

It is crazy storming here in Dallas- I would love to be on a warm beach right now :)
Have a blasty blast!

It would depend on the temperature of the water you plan to swim in. I would prefer to swim in a pond or small lake over a river in 57deg weather.

Keep in mind that rain will lower the temperature around you, as well as provide a conduit for your body to more efficiently release heat (effeciently yes - needed in 57deg weather NO).

Also keep in mind that if the water you are swimming in is non-flowing, there will be horizontal layers of warm/lukewarm/cool/cold/cool/lukewarm/warm water.

If the beach is on saltwater, then I would stay home instead. All of that exposed wet sand and gusty wind will make for a very (colder feeling temperatures) cold afternoon...

Make sure you bring enough sunblock. You might be sweating a little bit so spend a lot of time in the water.

Just kidding!

Wear a sweatshirt and have fun. If the water temp is warmer than the air temp you can go into the water. It'll feel warm.

Sure! just dress warmly, and remember your sunblock, because the UV rays still go through the clouds.

Why not get together some friends to go with you -- play volleyball, have a cook-out (with S'mores, of course!).

The fresh, salty air will invigorate and refresh you!

Absolutely!

I love the beach on any day. Just bundle up and enjoy! Sweats would keep you warm. My boyfriend and I love to surf fish when it is cold!
