I know that there is a lot of dissing among the Genres. Which is very ironic. Since Run-Dmc and Aerosmith were the First Rock/Rap collaboration to get a big hit. Eminem and Elton John did a song together. Eminem also used an old Aerosmith song and put some flows behind it and Got a hit song. Now Lil John has came out with Crunk Rock. Which is Rap with heavy guitars in the beat. And if everyone is saying Party like a Rockstar, even rappers. Why is there beef between the two Genres. Other than the stupid close-minded people out there who only listen to one type of music. I want facts as to which one is Better. Opinions are good on this Question. But dont type and simple minded, ignorant, or stupid comment.

There is no proof as to which is better. It's a question of what you as an individual enjoy. I don't agree with your feeling that "closed-minded" people only listen to one kind of music. I don't listen to rap or hip hop because I don't enjoy it and can't relate to it. But I don't hate people that do like it. It's a personal choice.

Music is subjective. What appeals to one person won't appeal to the next. It's exactly the same thing with movies, tv shows, books, and any other form of entertainment. However, some types of music (specifically pop and rap/hip hop) are more prone to turning out cookie cutter manufactured hits and the consumers just gobble them up because they are told to.
But in general, if it sounds good to you, that's all that really matters.

none is better, just different
you listen for different things for each genre
i listen to EVERYTHING, really
including things like Hawaiian music styles, Afro pop, and Indian classical
i also listen to European classical music
it is like with books
you read Shakespeare differently than you read Grisham
listen to it all, continue to be open minded and truly educated

You can't say which is BETTER. It's not a contest because it's all music. A person can say which they prefer but there is no hard core definitive way to decide that.

I must agree that there are alot of stupid close-minded people out there who only listen to one type of music , you dont have to choose what type of music you like !!!!!! I think the kind of music u like change as often as ur mood changes , thats what happens to me !!!
