AGAIN, it's not much of a surprise to see, not even "one" response from ""usual patriots!!"" who love to look dumb than truthful, to implicate the true colour of US!
Free speech and contribution, is all you always hear from these crowds!!( i could easily sense " the usual patriots" saying, WELL, isn't that enough?! well, what good is it, when US gives a buck and takes 10 bucks or more in return by its usual absurd policies!!)not even "one" will ever admits of America's wrong doing!!
Such as, plundering others natural sources, interfering in their affairs, policing the world in whole, unjust side taking and domination, imposing power on weak ones........etc!
That makes one wonder, are these types plain witless and duped or they're blinded by their nationalism!! Either way, they're far from reality and history book!
Unfortunately, the unjust acts done by America for its own interest and survival through out the coarse of history, are not forgettable.
Specially, those nations in which were the victims of such acts!
Sadly, America always tries to portrait/advertise itself as an peace loving and justifiable country, contrary to what world have known of her, but that, by itself, always adds another layer of hypocrisy on America!
PS, ignorance in some of these responses astonishes me!

Relax Guy –
You need to get going. We are still riding the post-WWII technological and economic boom that produced the highest standard of living in the world; but that wave has crested. Other nations have equaled and surpassed America in those very areas where we used to dominate. And, if conservatives are successful in their attempt to have science expelled from our public schools and replaced with the mythological folktales of quasi-historic semi-nomadic tribes of illiterate Semitic goat herders, our ability to compete internationally will be compromised and we will become the world’s milk cow, to be bled of our money as we dangerously fall behind the world’s other developed nations.

I had a long think about this and I can say the only thing that came to mind was my fiancee as good in America but I'm not sure how she would be contributing to the world.
The only other thing is the high rate of success with cancer, but they also have high infant mortality rates and an appalling medical system that's unfair on those that need it, like the sick.
Texican - You do realize that bush has put a condition on who get that money. They must not teach contraception but abstinence.
D C Timberstone - funny I thought the EU handed out more aid than the US.
who cares - America has the highest rate of poverty in all of the developed countries. It also has the richest people. America isn't in the top three countries but moves between 4 and 7 in technologically advanced countries.

The best thing about America is that we can speak freely. We need to be considerate of others but we don't have to hold back our feelings about our government. We can write to our elected officials and let them know our views. We can assemble and protest. We can fight for a better life.
We have a lot of freedoms here but what some people don't seem to get is that it comes at a price called responsibility. No one is totally free. It's just rather than having someone telling you to be responsible and how to do it, we the people get to decide. But that doesn't mean that we can ignore our responsibilities. We need to remember that it's only life and we are in this together so it can be peaceful or it can be tumultous.

Our ideals, although they fall closer to our practices sometimes than others.
We are seriously stretched away from them right now.
Two steps forward, one step back is progress, it just doesn't feel like it when that third step has been taken.
Our positive contributions will come in and after the next election, when the world sees the American public kick these PNAC, social regressive, freedom curbing liars to the curb and restore America to it's former stature.

We may be sending all this money abroad but why are we not also taking care of our people first. Look at all of our homeless people. Look at how we pay the people that play a huge part in helping us develop our kids. Look at how racism still exist in our country. Granted it won't ever go away but what is the government doing to try to get rid of that? Look at our health care system. Why can't someone just walk into an ER not worry about a bill will be coming later on? How is it if you sneak into a country ILLEGALLY people get upset because the government is wanting to punish you for it. But no one say anything when you are arrested for protecting your home and family from a burglar. We are a bunch of followers that need to demand more from our government.

What is good about America? We are good at making sure every other country is doing great, we are good at seeing that all foreign people have a home to live in here for free, we are good at ignoring all the homeless people here in America, we are good at making A lot of families choose between paying their bills or giving their kids something to eat, we are good at making sure that all illeagle people here have enough food and medical care, when we Americans are getting denied because 8 an hour is to much income for a family of 4. Sorry for the positive response but I see it no other way!

There are many GREAT things about America.....
The progression in technology.
The poverty rate is low compared to other countries.
The Constitution specifically the bill of rights. The bill of rights: "limit the powers of the federal government, protecting the rights of all citizens, residents and visitors on United States territory. Among the enumerated rights these amendments guarantee are: the freedoms of speech, press, and religion; the people's right to keep and bear arms; the freedom of assembly; the freedom to petition; and the rights to be free of unreasonable search and seizure; cruel and unusual punishment; and compelled self-incrimination."
The justice system. The justice system works in favor of those who are guilty and those who are innocent.
