Maybe if we in the US saw REGULARLY POSTED video installments of day to day life for families in Iran, we would have a more balanced and informed view of that country. I know it's a big country with different social, political, religious populations, but it couldn't hurt to have a connection of some kind.

I looked on youtube and found nothing.

Anyone know of a non-political video diary or vlog from there? Or anyone know a family there with a video cam?

Hi!

Well, it's the same as what you see on FOXNews, believe me! Working round the clock to enrich uranium or making weapons to kill American troops in Eraq, that's all ! :D ... just kidding ... Ok, well many people over there, even the Iranians who live in the western hemisphere have no exact image of Iran and this is why every scam news channel like CNN, BBC, Fox, CBS, etc. + Newly added Hollywood (esp. Zack Snyder, Oliver Stone, and even Michael Bay!) make a very ugly face for this nation and thus people watch the movie "300" and say "ha! these're Persians!" , "Iran is a Persian power" , etc ...

In Iran, which's known as Persia as well, nearby %70 of people are Persians, and %90 of people consider themselves as Aryan (! wow! scared? Aryan isn't what Hitler said, we even don't know him exactly, "ariya" means noble; more interesting Iran means "the land of Aryans", beside Iran, the Persian language is the official language of Tajikistan and Afghanistan) anyway, in around 550 BC, Cyrus the great, the 5th Achaemanid (eng> one who loves ideas) king made the first human empire and his successor made it the biggest and the most prosperous & glorious empire on the planet; Iran was the world's super-power for around 1100 years, no surprise that USA is just a 60 years old one and is destroying herself from inside ( this's what Mel Gibson showed in his latest film and what Will Durant said) just take a look at your birth rate, increasing homo marriages (which leads to no baby; by the way, is it only sin ? it's daft ! try to eat with two forks or brush your teeth with two toothbrushes and no toothpaste to understand what I'm saying, also my pres said there's no such thing in Iran? There's of course, but we call them "effeminate" ), increasing number of immigrants, etc. anyway, am I supposed to talk about all these? NO ! I just wanted to show you that an ordinary Iranian like me, knows what's Manhattan, what's the damn "Globalization" , how much idiot Foxnews is, and David Beckham, Heidi Klum, Abraham Lincoln, and Evangelist being, xmas Eve, XBOX, Windows Vista, and etc.

Life in Iran is divided into two fundamentally different situation: 1. When you're on the street / 2. When you're in home.

On the street USA is a great satanic power ( info : USA helped Arab country "Eraq" attack Iran and killed half a million of poor soul people like me, even used WMD | info : Arab\Persian | Nazi\Jew | Turkish\Armenian | Cheney\Rice ) ... they also shotted down a commercial air flight around 20 years ago, made the movie 300, consider Alexander (who fired our holy books of Avesta ( the holy book of the Iranian religion, Zoroastranism; Iranians were all Zoroastrians until 14 centuries ago), destroyed Persia, killed everyone to rule Persia for just 12 years ! damn!!) as a super-hero, and even furthermore! USA called Iran under our best president (Khatami) rule as a member of axis of evil ! ( triple damn Richard Perl) , they also wanna break apart Iran and talking about it with proud!!! hey! stop! it was all on the street where women wear veil , people pretend of Oliver Twist being during Ramadan , don't touch each other and etc. as you hopefully already saw on one of your news(?!) channels ...

But, there's another life ... inside your house, kids are watching an R rated movie from a cracked commerical satellite channe like showtime movie channel or TPS multivision l! (yeah, true! no such laws we have! no MPAA, also no copyright, WinVista costs $6 over here!!), a girl wearing a mini skirt is singing aloud playing electric guitar, mum and dad are trying to break the world's record in French kissing, their son is dating his girlfriend, and etc. the girl is a software engineer, mum is building sky scrappers, and dad is a university professor, and the boy is an underground heavy metal composer ...

ok, my fingers can't type anymore and as I need them for playing wow (world of warcraft) ... just take a look :

1 last thing, if you somehow supposed our present life as something like going to be western, you're false; we're just trying to be as ancient Persian as possible :) and that's it! USA isn't a super-power, UK is the decision maker and USA is nothing but a Cinematic power!

"We've everything, and you're just visitors" Brad or Leonardo ( I can't remember exactly) said to an Italian in a movie!!
Buddies, it's bad! believe me! fake self-confidence is bad!

Hey SLH thanks for the link. I am a USA citizen, but in the 1960-80's Iranian pilots trained in the US at our airbases. I grew up in a town with one of these airbases and dated some of the Iranian men. They were very nice, polite, and gentlemen. I was able to get pics from their country at that time. The Iranian people are highly educated. If the tensions were not between our country I would travel there to meet them and visit the sites...but alas until all of this subsides...travel there will have to wait. I do think it is vital for us to see Iranian life from its citizens....

Good question and comment!

It is not a video diary but the photos provide a good insight. I hope this helps as I agree that it is important that the people of different countries understand each other as a means to reduce the risk of conflict.

hi. im Iranian and i live in Niavaran,Tehran. the things that my Iranian brother said are true except ones about inside our house. maybe its true for him but not for most of us. maybe you think that good life is being with your friends and going to concert or clubs with them or ... . but in Iran good life means being with our families. we Iranians have really nice time with our families. if you come here you will see that Iranians travel with their uncles, aunts and cousins .maybe you think that its impossible. we really have happy lives and we have really close relationship with our families. we are happy.
