Yes most of my household furnishings are hand-me-downs!!!
I find hand-me downs are the best because you know the person cared about you to give something you need!!!

Don't think of them as "hand me down" but as "vintage," LOL! I'd guess that, with me, it's about 50-50. I have a gorgeous antique secretary that I inherited from my grandmother; my bedroom set was a gift from my brother; I bought everything in the computer room new and the couch in the living room was new but the coffee tables were my mother's. Yeah, it's probably 50-50.

Actually my husband and I have paid for about 90% of our stuff. My brother is the one who gets the hand me downs in my family.

I can't think of a single hand-me-down, not one. I wish I had some, for old times sake.

Anon, Yes, my rocking chair came from Mother-in-law, I have a table that she gave us too, there are 3 other wooden chairs that she let us have, and other pieces! Thanks for coming over! Have a great week! Jimmy.
