There was stick ball, like baseball except it was played in the street with a rubber ball and a cut off broomstick, also, stoop ball, where you threw a ball at the steps leading to the house,and the ball would bounce out to the street. there was boxball, where each person stood in one of the 4 adjoining slabs of sidewalk and hit the ball to an opponents box til someone missed, then they were out. You could play all these games if you had a 5 cent ball. Then there were the freebies, like potsy, and red rover,and ring a levio, and tag. Our games cost little, because we had little.

I miss Dodge Ball! Most schools don't let the kids play it anymore, because someones feeling might get hurt. What a load of crap!

Red Rover- 2 teams of kids hold hands and one team yells, "Red Rover, Red Rover send _______right over" That kids runs to the other team and trys to break in between their hands. If they do they steal a person from that team. If they don't they stay on that team. And it goes on and on.......

I played counting fingers with teens sitting before me, counting body parts, counting moles on the body, counting flicking of eye bros, counting words spoken in a minutes, counting cars going on the road. etc. Think what game you play if you are sitting before me. Just immagine only.

Freeze tag- get tagged and stand still. Someone else has to tag you to be unfrozen
Duck Duck Goose- self explanitory
4 square- used bus stops, popcorn, cherry bobs, etc.
