It rained today... it actually rained... no sun out, no fun shout.

How about this:
It rained today
the sky is grey
Grass and ground
is shiny with wet
Our earth is thrilled
the air is washed
The breath we take
is now clearly freshed
Clouds have parted
blue skies appear
Now there is
nothing to fear.
this took me 3 1/2 minutes including saving it into a folder and dating it by me.......Keep working on yours....

I doubt this project has pushed too hard since Rosh Hashanah, but I applaud your efforts to date. Keep going!
If the subject matter makes for tough going, you could always start another poem on a new angle.
