The answer is the same biblically and socially though the reality of it may differ from the ideal: They are both equally committed (in theory) to the responsibilities of maintaining a family.

Ideally, I would say that from a biblical and societal perspective it would be 50/50. Every family is different and chances are extremely slim that very many families can maintain this balance, but ideally the responsibility would be equal. Even if religious beliefs dictate that the woman stays home and handles the cooking, cleaning and child rearing, the man should still serve as the moral compass, breadwinner, disciplinarian for the family. If the family roles are less traditional, I maintain that the family unit will still function more efficiently if the responsibilities are divided equally.

i like D's answer even thouhg i dont agree but that is historically how the family worked so one isnt more committed than the other just different ways in my estimation even though now the lines are really getting moved around so that theres becoming different kinds of family models

the woman is directly responsible for the care but the man is ultimately responsible. The man makes the rules and the woman enforces them if she has problems she goes to the man. And the man gets his law from God.

I think equal efforts should be made for the family and the house responsibilities and I won't settle for less.
