wazzup .. I got a question here .. I am using a core 2 duo E4400 chip and I can overclock it up to 3Ghz (2Ghz stock) .. does that mean I can get a similar or little lower performance (specially in games) to that of an E6850 or how much better will be E6850 ??
thanks so much..

the E4400 at that freq is comparable to the e6600. The e6850 is not only tock faster, but has more l2 cache (so does the 6600, but the higher freq on the e4400 about equals the difference) The stock e6850 will outperform an OCed e4400. I actually have that same chip (e4400) up to 3 as well and love. Great for the money.

I would put it a little faster than an E6600, the E6600 is 2.4Ghz with a 1066Mhz FSB, overclocked to that speed the E4400 is 3Ghz with a 1200Mhz FSB. The E6850 is 3Ghz with a 1333Mhz FSB, and twice the cache or the E4400. In games the cache will give you a little better performance, and the faster FSB will help overall system speed, but actually not a whole lot. If you could get the E4400 up to about 3.3Ghz, I would put it ahead of the E6850 in performance.

im stunned you havent fried it yet the two. any farther and your going to go through extreme harm. in case you relatively need to be sure what happens in case you oc way too no longer undemanding then save going and enhance the voltage yet in very small steps. you wont get everywhere via increasing the multiplier except you up the voltage.
