These are true or false:

If n is a natural numver an 18|n, then 9|n.

If a natural number is divisible by 7, then it must also be divisible by 14.

Could you please explain to me what makes the statement true or false? And I'd appreciate seeing sources too.

Thanks much!

O.K. .....for the first one .....if the answer has to also be a natural number than it is False because 18/6=3 but 9/6=3/2

and for the second one........it would also be false because 21/7=3 but 21/14=3/2.

Now for the confusing part.........every number is divisible by any other number in reality. But not every number divides EVENLY into every number.

I think your question is does these numbers divide EVENLY into each other and the answer to that is false on both counts.

Hope this helps!

False. Obviously, 7 is divisible evenly by 7, but 7 is NOT evenly divisible by 14.
