Well, look. It's a free country. You'd expect that they would support those rights, but what if they are shy? Or inactive? Or uncertain? Not all blacks are democrats, either. Not all women are feminists. And many of the ones in both groups BELIEVE in those things but lead by the way they live and not the overt actions expected of them. I'm just saying, don't be so harsh on them. People act, think, and behave differently no matter the group or sub-culture they belong to. I'm just not so willing to assume they are bashable.

Wow, you may be describing me. OK, I'll come clean! I'm a Gay Republican, I do support everything in the equality agenda. It is important to me but; NOT NOW!
Our country is at war, our focus should be on supporting the President the troops and the country and opposing the enemy. The enemy by the way is Islam, you know, those who would kill us for being gay! We gay guys would have it good, muslims would give us a relatively quick hanging, not a lot of suffering with that. You Lesbians, well that's a different story, they would bury you to your necks and then throw rocks at your head until you die.
The LGBT community shouldn't be pissing and moaning about marriage or any other equal right other than joining the Military to fight islam. If you won't fight for your country, why do you deserve any equality?

I think their a little weird, and probably confused. The only reason why they probably wouldn't support gay rights is because of religious influence or pressure from family members or society. Like they have been told all their life gay is wrong so they're kinda brainwashed. That's the only thing I can think of.

Im totally gay but I dont think we deserve "gay rights"---i am a gay american, i work, i pay taxes, and i work right along with str8 coworkers. My private life is just that private. I am very proud of myself-i have other accomplishments to be proud of other than the fact that I like dick. granted i am proud of my abilities but that isnt what I would yell from a mountain top for. My partner and I have a legal binding contract that secures our properties and we each have jobs that gives us health insurance. I live in a country that gives me every right as the next person. I and my partner are content with our rights, we own a home, cars, have retirement plans,..we travel.....we are dominant in our careers, what special rights do we want or need. we have been smart in our investments and properties. That is a God given right,

There are (and always will) be people who do not or can not rock the boat. It might be fear for their jobs, it might be for families....whatever the reason, being in or out of the closet is strictly a person's personal decision.
For some people, their sexual preference can be a very private thing to them.
Then again, maybe they DO support Gay Rights. They just might not do it in the middle of the town square at the top of their lungs.

I have to say, I don't really understand those in the LGBT community who are against gay rights. If someone is personally against increased legislation specifically geared to the gay community for various reasons, I can respect that. What bothers me is when those people go on the offensive, and actively seek to hinder those in the community who do want that legislation. If you're against equal rights for the gay community and you're gay, just keep to yourself. You are more than welcome to not take advantage of any rights that become available, but don't take those rights away from those of us who want them.

They probably just want to live their lives in peace. I know a couple that will not go out and protest or speak out about it, simply because they want to lead their lives together and not have to mess with all the drama. They're happy, they live a normal life... so do they really need to go out there and stir up a big ruckus.

Are you talking about those gay people who just live their lives without marching, parading, and yelling and screaming? The ones who are just gay without the hissy fits? They are doing more for gay equality than all the radical whiners put together.

It does not really bother me much. To each his own. Not everyone has a crusade to fight for their rights. I am gay and I would definitely fight for my human rights. I am still not so clear as to what gay equality/rights are. For me, to stand for human rights is just enough for I believe that all genders are equal therefore fighting for human rights would suffice.
