Can you give me some examples of how we, as a country, have strayed from the original intent of the creation of our country. Good examples can refer to the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and even quotes from our founding fathers. But don't be limited to just those.

Probably the increase in the powers of the federal government with the decline in the autonomy of the states.
14th Amendment shows some of this.
The founding fathers, most of them, wanted the states to feel reassured that the federal government would not become too powerful. They even drafted the Bill of Rights because of this.

It used to be that foreign countries were not permitted to own land in this country. Now they own most of it. The Constitution and Bill of Rights was created for the people of this country, and not to be interpreted and dictated by foreign countries. Now we have both. The sovereignty and solidarity of this country has been divided and sold. Our Government is more interested in foreign policies, and humanitarian aid to others, then the issues and problems facing us right here at home.

Making our country home to anybody but us Americans, I feel not welcome here any more. Example seeing all these illegal Mexicans and Arabs living everywhere, breaking the law and frowning at us taxpayers like they own this place, I think the Government needs to wake up before we are chased out of our own homes.

The people then loved the idea of freedom. They wanted the ability to do what they wanted and keep what they earned through hard work. Now people love the idea of government offered security. They want to keep what they earn and take what others earn.
