Okay so, since saturday I have been having contractions. Saturday night i had 2 that were back to back and they were awful they brought tears to my eyes! They let up so, i fell asleep and slept thru the night. Sunday I woke up and was alright. Then I started having them again but not regular. Well last night It was around 7 when they started becoming 10m-1/2 hr apart. My back is KILLING me! My urine is sooo clear but it has a funny smell to it. I lost a little piece of my plug last wednesday. Just looked like a lilttle booger. Nothing red, pink or brown yet. I dont want to go to the hospital if its "false" labor ya know. Today, i have had just a few but my back is hurting BAD and I have awful pressure in my butt and down below. I am just not sure what to do.
What does everyone think??

You might be experiencing early or latent labor. With my last baby this lasted several days before I had regular contractions and my water broke.

You can always change positions or rest to see if the contractions subside or get weaker. Then you would know they were probably Braxton-Hicks or "pre labor."

Even if you aren't in labor yet, it could still be just around the corner, especially if you are losing your mucus plug. Is there an after hours number at your OB clinic or the hospital that you can call? A nurse should be able to evaulate your symptoms and let you know if it's worth coming in to be checked.

All the best to you!

Could be early labor, which can often go on episodically for days or even weeks.

Drink a glass of water and lie down on your left side when you get crampy and uncomfortable. Sometimes even the slightest dehydration can cause an increase in contractions. If you're not in labor, they will slow and become less intense.

The general rule of thumb is that if you have to ask "is this labor?" then it probably isn't (at least not true, active labor, which won't stop until baby is born several hours later). But active labor could be coming soon.

But always call your doctor if you aren't sure. Or go to the hospital to be evaluated. A false alarm or two never hurt anything.

I am just 36 weeks. And I have been experiencing some of the same things and every time I wonder if this could be it. If the baby has dropped, which mine has, you will be getting intense lower back pain. I experience it more intensly at night. I can't walk for extended amounts of time, anything longer then 10 minutes and my back is killing me. I get contractions around the same time every night. I believe that you are experiencing Braxton Hicks. Sometimes they can feel like the real thing. But if you are concerned go in and have yourself checked. Many of woman go in, and are let go because of false labor. They are use to it.

Ive been having the same symptoms at 35 weeks. Although your Story is way more extreem than me. It could be the baby dropping, because I can feel my son movin down, hes pinching all the nerves on my inner thigh and feels like he is stabing me in the vagina. Not to mention feels like he will shoot out my butt sometimes any second. You are full term now so I wouldn't risk Having your baby where ever you are. I would go get checked for sure. Its better to be sent home thank to have a complication with no docs in your home. I live about 40mi away from my hospital in the country down a dirt road. If it's happening relax and enjoy you time with your new baby and family!!! Good luck

I would have to say that if they aren't consistant with time you probably aren't in labor. You are only 36 weeks so it seems a bit early as well...but not impossible either. The pressure could just be the baby in position. To be safe, give your OB a call and tell him/her what has been happening. If all else fails, go to the hospital. Better safe than delivering you child at home or in a car ;)

You can call your Dr - but as a guide, you are in labor when contractions are regular and increasing - these may just be braxton hicks which can be very painful!

It begins with regular contractions which are light and not painful...these increase with both frequency and pain until you are in full blown labor - having a bunch, then not so much today means you are probably not in labor now but are close - having a regualr pattern that builds is the main indicator!

However, just to be safe, as every woman is different, I would clal your Dr for the best advice!

Dear if I were you I would get to the hospital...better safe than sorry. I am pregnant with my first child so I haven't been through labor but I know if I were experiencing something like you are then I would definitely go. I've heard about women going through something similar to what you are for a couple days not knowing they were going into labor until all of a sudden their contractions were 5 minutes a part and the baby was coming quickly...so please go to the hospital. Even if it were a false alarm its better to know. Good Luck and Congrats

I would definately call your doctor. They can hook you up to an NST (non-stress test) to determine if you are having contractions and how the baby is handling it. They will check for dilation and effacement, and be able to tell you if you should go home or to the hospital. Don't take any chances, its still a little early and your doctor may want to stop labor if you are having real contractions so that the baby's lungs have a little more time to develop.

Well they always tell you to drink water and lay down and if the contractions subside then it isn't "true labor". Relax and everytime you get a contraction try to feel excited that things are happening, because it is almost time to meet your baby.

Not precisely however that's the fist phases of it that may final for as much as weeks at a time. Hormones getting ready your frame to hard work can reason that nausea, as good as strain to your bowels making them to turn out to be free. And it seems like you're wasting your mucous plug, which means that you're to your approach. I misplaced mine across the identical time period as good. Just preserve monitor of time after they turn out to be constricting and constant. Also whilst I had hard work with a few of my infants, there used to be handiest again hard work within the establishing. Call your physician. Mine constantly mentioned to time and stay up for constant contractions. Tough name with a primary being pregnant however you by no means understand.
