Mainstream education, debate and media are currently hyper-focused on condemnation OR supply routes when in fact the real solution is to stop the illegal war for oil disguised as the spread of democracy; thereby the need to appease racism and aggression in Turkey will vanish. That's the better issue! But yeah to answer your question, Kurdish separatism is way more important than Pelosi's most excellent maneuver. Why do YOU think Turkey has to be satisfied?!

The irony is that the move by Congress will not reduce war, it will create more war. The US has been working hard to keep Turkey from creating another genocide with the Kurds. Turkey is part of NATO, and has a military second only to the US in the NATO alliance. When Congress pisses them off, they will use it as a bargaining chip in their treaty to attack the Kurds in N. Iraq. Then Iran could also get involved. That may be the spark that engulfs the whole region into war.
Thanks, Congress!

The Congressional Resolution - this tragic example of genocide has already been well documented and even recognized by the U.S. government way back in the seventies - I believe that the only reason Congress is doing it (AGAIN!) is because the Democrats that control Congress can't afford for the U.S. to actually bring Iraq to stability before the next elections. On a related note...has anyone else noticed that news coverage of Iraq has dropped off now that the "Surge" strategy is showing positive results?

The Democratic Congress has purposefully alienated an important U.S. ally--Turkey. Why ? Why now ?
After 100 years, why now ?
The only reason I can think of is that Democrats believe their only hope for political power is for the U.S. to fail in Iraq. A poll taken last week reflected that 24% of all Democrats believe "the world would be better if the U.S. was defeated in Iraq"
We now have a major U.S. political party working towards maximizing the deaths of U.S. service men and women. Interesting.
If this is not treason, what is ?

Excellent question and it would seem that both could create an interruption to supply routes. I don't think it would have been an issue if it were just one of your ideas but both together unnecessarily puts the Turks in a very compromised position. We still have several hundred soldiers stationed in Turkey, they have been stationed there throughout the cold war. It is our primary Intelligence site to monitor the Middle
East and Russia I would really hate to lose that ability over unnecessary legislation.

Congress' resolution because it sends a message to Turkey that we have already sided with the Kurds.

The democrat congress' pointless and useless resolution. And, I think the Turks would agree. After all, it is a direct result of congressional irresponsibility that they recalled their ambassador, not their problems with the Kurds.

Our relations will not be cut with Turkey, the lobbyist's will change all the house members minds --- each Democrat will change his vote just like Hillary did. Unless of course they develope some spine and stand up for what is right.
Peace,

The Kurds have been attacking for years. It is the resolution that has Turkey up in arms. It is the straw that broke the camels back. And the Dems know it.
